Back in 2023, I was training for the Paris-Brest-Paris, a grueling 1,200 km bike ride across France. Unfortunately, I got injured during my final qualifier. But since our flights were already booked, we pivoted and turned the trip into a French vacation instead.

Last November, under the Florida sun that painted the sky in hues of gold and crimson during flight windows, I embarked on a nine-day powered paragliding training adventure with a few of my co-workers. Haley, Sandy, and I decided to get the full eclipse experience and see totality for ourselves. After far too many hours researching, we decided to drive up early Monday morning, take some meetings in parking lots in St. Johnsbury, VT, then spend the day relaxing at the Dirt Church Brewing Company in East Haven, VT. Last fall, Haley and I did a long weekend trip to the Twin Cities. Part of my bucket list is to visit every MLB team’s stadium. With the Angels coming to Minnesota, it seemed like a great opportunity to see Target field and Shohei Ohtani (aka the 🐐). Unfortunately, Shohei wound up getting hurt a few weeks before we arrived, but we still had a great time walking around and exploring Minneapolis and St. Paul. There are many nice parks and activities, including kayaking in the Chain of Lakes…

Back in September 2016, Haley and I travelled to Hawai’i for the first time. We started on Oahu for a few days, hopped over to Kaua’i for five days, then wrapped up on Maui for a few more days.

Over the fourth of July weekend in 2022, Haley and I ventured off to Chicago to do some sightseeing. We had an absolute blast seeing all the great architecture by boat and walking around the parks.

Last winter, I had the honor of once again tagging along with the Giglio and Barry men to ski for a week out at Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia. It started off with our connecting flight in Toronto being delayed over 6 hours, resulting in us arriving at our place in the early morning hours on Sunday the 27th. But we were excited and even on lack of sleep were able to get our “bonus day” in on the slopes.

The Maxon clan stayed at a fantastic place at 127 Standish Way in West Yarmouth. The two weeks went by way too fast. It was great seeing friends and family, playing lots of golf, tennis, and swimming. Even caught a beautiful nearly-full, red moon at dawn. It almost looked more fake then if it were black and white.

Back before COVID-19 ruined 2020, I was fortunate to go on an amazing ski trip through Utah and Colorado. Huge thanks to Katie and Kyle for flying out to Salt Lake City to join me. Kevin was an excellent guide at Snowbird. Thanks to Riley for letting me steal her car and ski with Madison! So grateful for Kevin, Paul, Nick, and Jack for inviting me to join them in Colorado. Can’t wait to do another trip in the near future, and finally play someone other than the computer in pitch!

What an amazing first day to the epic 9-Day 2020 Ski Trip! Took a 6 am flight out of Phoenix and was on my first chairlift by 9:30 am.
