15 Week Old Sandy
Squirrels and raccoons and cousins, oh my!
Sandy met her cousins Arlo and Finn last weekend. It may have been in the 60’s, but that didn’t stop Sandy from finding the last remaining snow pile and wrestling in it. She and Arlo really hit it off, as both puppies played for the better part of 2 hours.
We had some interesting wildlife run-ins this week. She saw her first squirrel in the backyard and inevitably gave chase. Sandy quickly learned she wasn’t cut out to climb trees, though she tried her best. Later this week, as she was going out for her last potty for the night, a raccoon ran along the fence and into the tree above her spot. Sandy wasn’t spooked, but Brendan and Haley sure were. Thankfully a flashlight was able to keep it at bay, and she was able to relieve herself in peace.
We’re still working on catching balls and treats in her mouth. A few have gone in, but mostly from her blindly opening her mouth and the trajectory being just right. She also looses interest quite quickly, opting to do some landscaping on the bushes instead. The low-hanging leaves have mostly been tackled, requiring her to lunge for current leaves. Who knew we were getting such a brilliant landscape architect!
